For Beginners, Kindergartners and Rookies: Just a couple of diamond changes-no time changes.
For Juniors, Preteens , Teens, Majors and Seniors : There are some add on games and time changes and diamond changes. Also note in order to get games in, we have some teams playing doubleheaders. The rain and power outage the last 2 weeks have played havoc on the schedule.
FOR TEENS and MAJORS: Your Tournaments start On July 15. All teams should be prepared to play that day. Tournament brackets will be posted on line here and on facebook.com/bysa83. The teens have a Gold and a Silver bracket and the majors also have a Gold and Silver bracket.'

June 29th
Version 4 of the game schedule is now available. There are changes for every league with the exception of Beginners.
The rain last week plus the power outage caused the cancellation of about 50 games and in this revision I have added back in most of them or in some cases generated new ones.
So, all teams should check this new schedule carefully because more than likely there are several changes that affect you—such as adding a game or moving to a different diamond. I tried not to change game times
Most of the game additions have red font in the Excel Spreadsheet. For the rookies and kindergarteners who did not have games scheduled in week 6,7,or 8 I added in a game.
We are now over halfway through the season and have played over 300 games. The schedule now shows these new times

Beginners & Kindergarten Leagues play with a soft foam ball. We have used this ball the last 2 years and the coaches agreed it was much better than a wiffle ball.
The objectives are to teach the fundamentals of softball, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Games are approximately 50 minutes long, using wiffle ball bats and foam ball. Generally, there will be 8 to 9 players assigned to a team provided enough parents are willing to coach. Everyone plays the entire game. Parents pitch and instruct players. Batters are not required to wear helmets but may do so if they choose. An umpire is provided by BYSA. Games are played weekdays only; no weekend games. Parents are encouraged to call (937) 422-4949 to discuss individual circumstances, especially the option of playing up into the Rookie league(1st/2d graders) for regular softball.
